Course cancellation and changes policy
Covid non attendances
We have experienced significant losses over the past year by the non-attendance of our school clients caused by the Covid outbreak. Our Cookery School insurance does not underwrite these loses for delegates not attending their prebooked dates nor can we, at such short notice, re sell late cancellations within a few days.
We very much value our clients and would not wish for them to forfeit a full loss, as would be the case in theatre or rail bookings, travel and other hospitality areas for a “non-attendance or no-show” Covid related circumstances.
For such situations we offer a 50% re-booking option, which means they can re-book the same course at a 50% discount.

14 days=50% refund – this (1) applies to course cancellations within 14 days and (2) applies to course date changes within 14 days
7 days=no refund – this (1) applies to course cancellations on or within 7 days and (2) applies to course changes on or within 7 days

Course bookings changes within 30 days will attract a £15 administration fee explained below.

Sometimes we are asked why we charge for course bookings changes and why we have a course change and cancellation policy.
Course changes: each time a course change is made, one of our administrators have to release the booking and issue a new one. At the same time, we may need to advise others who are on the cancellation list. Customers cannot see this, but this does absorb much time in telephone calls, voicemails, emails and callbacks hence we have to cover our costs like most service companies.
Late change & cancellation policy : when a course date is booked and confirmed, this means that we cannot offer that space to a potential new enquirer. If someone chooses to change a course booking within 14 days, we maybe in a position to offer the space to someone on the cancellation list or take a late booking. All our workshop shopping lists, assistants etc are organised 7 days in advance so if within 7 days a cancellation occurs, we may not be in a position to resell a booking thus we operate at a loss.
We cannot offer a (I) refund nor (II) reschedule another date for non attendance on a confirmed course date.
These policies are standard with similar institutions and we recommend that private insurance is taken in order to cover any losses you may incur for non attendance or course changes. We are happy to issue a non-attendance statement to 3rd party insurers.
