This weekend workshop is dedicated to those who are either new to both vegetarian or vegan or those already familiar with the diet but, looking to extend their horizons.
For many this can be a disorienting place to be; alone in the kitchen!
The workshop covers all aspects from shopping essentials, equipment, common pitfalls, food combining to achieve a balance diet.
The first day introduces the basics and introducing some easy to prepare midweek meals and flavour/seasonal combinations. We avoid the use of commercially produced ingredients like quorn or frozen substitutes as this workshop addresses the art of easy cooking capitalising on fresh ingredients. Amongst this, practical guidance and information is delivered; how to re-heat, cook in advance and also freezing options too.
The second day extends to slightly more complex dishes and uses some of the groundwork techniques explained on the first day. The focus is to deliver a wide range of ingredients reflected in the recipes thus multiplying one’s confidence. The day also includes valuable insights when organising dinner for larger groups or special occasion.
Some of the recipes we cover are stews, pastry cobbler, pancakes, aromatic lentils, easy breads, rice dishes, pate, and this just some of the creations shared on this weekend workshop.
